CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Meets with President of AmCham China in Beijing

Updated: Aug 07,2026

Recently, Zhang Zhicheng, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), met in Beijing with Michael Hart, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China), and representatives of its member companies.

Zhang noted that in recent years, China has provided strict legal protection for the intellectual property (IP) rights of both domestic and foreign enterprises, ensuring equal treatment and equal protection and striving to create a fair and competitive environment for enterprises and innovation entities worldwide. CNIPA is willing to listen to the views of the business community, better understand the IP-related needs of foreign enterprises, and provide more targeted support and services.

Hart said that China has made significant progress in IP protection in recent years, creating a sound environment for the development of foreign enterprises. AmCham China hopes to maintain dialogue with CNIPA and will continue to encourage its member companies to remain confident in the Chinese market and invest in China.

Following the meeting, Hart presented CNIPA with the 2026 American Business in China White Paper.(Sourced from CNIPA Website)
